Happy Mother’s Day, to all the moms out there! I hope you realize how special you are to your children…although I hope you also understand you wouldn’t be moms without us! Haha. On this special day, (and yes, I realize it’s almost up) I would like to take a moment and thank my mom.
Mom, I am who I am because of you. You’ve spent countless hours of effort, work, tears, and prayers invested in me. I admire you greatly, and aspire to become like you some day (and I feel like I’m well on my way). Being a mother takes sacrifice, and you’ve always been so sacrificial for all of us kids. As a pastor’s wife, I know that you have so much to do that you feel you can’t spend as much quality time with us as you’d like, but we understand, mom. You are super special!
When I’m a mom, I hope I have half the energy you have. Lol. You have spunk (as some would call it), and I think me and Charity have inherited that from you, for sure! Haha.
I’m not sure how you do it, but no matter how badly I mess up, or how often we have our disagreements, you still encourage me. You see the potential in us kids, even if others have given up all hope!
You fight for us, even though we may not appreciate it at the time. You are willing to take drastic measures (such as hiding us away in an igloo in Alaska) if they are needed. You are a true Proverbs 31 woman!
No, you’re not perfect, you’re not all the way there sometimes. 😉 Every once in a while, you just need your coffee…but mom, we don’t blame you. 😀 By not being perfect, you show us that we can be genuine and that we don’t have to put on a front for anybody. By not being all the way there, you show us that insanity runs in our family. Haha.
On a more serious note, I look up to you as an example of the mother I want to be some day. You have brought us up with good manners, with strong morals, but most of all…with a deep love in our hearts for serving the Lord. You have a tendency to ask
uncomfortable questions that make us think, but it keeps us from being superficial. Thanks for forcing me to think for myself.
You also have your quirks, and add humor and sass to our family! Our family sure would be boring without you! (Might I add… our family would not exist without you. Lol.)
I hope you had a wonderful day, Mom! I love you bunches, although I’m sure I don’t say it enough. Thanks for everything you do, and I hope one day I can pay you back somehow…(which is basically impossible). Maybe with grand kids, or something. 😉 Thank you for loving me, as well as the rest of my ugly siblings! 😉 😛
Here are a few quote that made me either meditate or laugh:
“A mother’s love for her child is like nothing else in the world. It knows no law, no pity. I dares all things, and crushes down remorselessly all that stands in its way.” – Agatha Christie
Thanks again for everything you do for us, mom. I love you bunches, and hope you had a wonderful day! (I hope we made you feel special today. ❤ )
Your favorite daughter, 😉 😛
