The Corona Chronicles: Exciting News! …and the Best is Yet to Come!

Well, I have a looot to catch up on! I realize that, no worries. Believe it or not, I’ve gotten several text messages from friends asking me when I’m going to post again. 😁 I guess the good thing is that when I don’t post for a while, it usually means that I have too many things going on!! 😂😂

That has been the case this time, as well. First and foremost, for those of you who didn’t know…(although it’s been long enough that everyone probably knows by now 😂)

¡Bienvenido a Casa!

Nathaniel came home!! We are super happy to have him back, and I have especially enjoyed having him as my Bible study partner, but I’ll talk about that later on. Thanks to all his friends in California who were willing to send him home (and you’re welcome to all of his friends who were ready to kick him out! 😂)

After he got out of quarantine, we got right to work with all the people I needed him to meet! 😁 (I started this blog weeks ago, which is why these updates are so far back.)

He had to do quarantine for a couple of weeks, but it was such a relief just to know he was actually here!

Something super exciting is that I’ve had the opportunity to meet and get to know so many people during this pandemic. It would take a little while to tell the whole story, but I will give y’all the short version of everything that has happened.

We were in service a Thursday night, and Pastor preached about the end time. The fear of God fell upon those who were at our house, and others who were connected online. There was such a burden for lost souls on all of our hearts and, as we were praying during altar call, I felt such a burden for Isabel and her family. I had been the only person that she knew who knew the truth, and yet besides inviting her to church and having gone to visit her, I hadn’t done anything else to try to lead her to truth. I felt a burden to give her a Bible study and prayed that God would reveal the truth to her.

When I called and asked if she’d be willing to let me come by and give her a Bible study, she said that she would appreciate it. This was before Nathaniel came back, so I went by myself and began to talk about the plan of salvation. I was able to meet all of her family and her husband came home from work to listen and ask questions as well. The day I gave them the Bible study, I had a personal experience with the Holy Ghost teaching me what to say! (Luke 12:12)

I took Nathaniel to meet Isabel and her family as soon as his quarantine was up. We mentioned coming back and maybe doing a church service, and they said that they would enjoy it and try to invite some neighbors. While we were there at Isabel’s house, her dad (who’s name happens to be Trinity) asked us if we’d be willing to go to a neighbors house and pray for a family who was sick. We said yes, of course! Who would turn down a golden opportunity like that?

When we got to their house, we immediately felt that we were stepping onto satan’s territory, but declared that it was God’s territory in Jesus’ name! There were several strange things that happen, but I don’t want to mention them and make it seem like I’m giving glory and attention to the devil. I can safely say that after the prayer meeting we had there, we knew that we had to go back and that we were staking claim on God’s territory. Nathaniel and I both hoped that that there would be an opportunity for a service there soon!

It just so happened that the next Sunday, they opened up the option for people to circulate, and it also happened to be the day I could circulate by my passport number. Nathaniel, Entni, and I decided we were going to go to have a church service there in that neighborhood. Our faith was very strong that God was going to protect us, and He did protect us.

We have been going every Sunday since, and let me tell you that every time there are more and more of my siblings going and every single time, we have gone through the police checkpoints. I don’t know if the Lord makes us invisible, or if He just puts it into the hearts of the policemen to let us pass. One thing I know for sure is that God has favored us during this time. I am not insinuating that our family is more special/important in His eyes; what I know is that His church can’t be stopped. Revival is happening. It has been exciting to see what God is doing in Isabel’s family and I know that even greater things are on their way! Please help us pray for Isabel’s family; pray that God would give them revelation. Please pray for Adan and his family as well (Adan is the neighbor whose family we went to visit.)

That is one highlight of this past month or so, but there are several more!

I also want to take a moment to thank God for His healing power! As some of you know, Allison and Iris have been living with us a for quite a while this year. Their dad has had problems since it was discovered that he had fluid around his brain, and it was causing him strong headaches and making him lose his balance keeping him from walking (or working) properly. He had his first surgery at the beginning of this year and all was well…for a while. After a while his headaches started back up again. He was in pain and it was worse than before. They took him to the hospital because he had a high fever and other things messing with him, as well. When they took him to the hospital and took the tests needed, the doctor (after several days of not really telling them anything) set a date for the brain surgery. Well, while waiting for the surgery, the nurses and doctors were not necessarily kind, understanding, and helpful. Bro. Darlin would be in a lot of pain, and wasn’t himself. He lost his vision and would randomly babble like a kid. I am not saying this to humiliate him; I am sharing this because it is all a part of the amazing testimony he now has.

After a second surgery, his pain eased, but he lost the use of his left hand (from the wrist down) and couldn’t see. If you saw him, you’d see his eyes unfocused trying to find who was talking to him. Someone had to help him stand/walk, or he would just fall over. We noticed he wasn’t getting any better, and at times was aggressive, due to the fact that he was disoriented and confused. It got to the point where he didn’t recognize his wife, so we knew that something was wrong.

My parents took him to a different doctor who, upon seeing the test results, said: “this man needs an emergency surgery within 12 hours, or he could die!” They wanted to send him to a larger city, but thankfully there was an option for them to do it in the city that we live in.

After he had this last surgery he could see and walk, which was a miracle in and of itself, but he still didn’t have the use of his left hand. Our church began to pray for healing, then one day (while my dad was visiting them) the miracle took place. Bro. Darlin suddenly moved his fingers; it wasn’t a huge movement, but it was enough to know that God had started performing the miracle. It was such a faith booster for him and his wife, and for all of the church in general. The last I heard was that tonight he called my dad and told him that all his fingers (even his thumb) were starting to move and loosen up. God is good, y’all! He still performs miracles, and we are so thankful to have witnessed a miracle…but we want to see even more! We are praying for Bro. Roque’s healing!

Do y’all remember (in the pictures I posted of the services we were having in our backyard) that there was a man in an electric wheelchair? His name is Bro. Roque and he was baptized and received the Holy Ghost a couple of weeks ago. It is so exciting to hear him talking to others and sharing his testimony. He has been in a wheelchair for over 10 years, but we have been believing and praying that God would heal him and allow him to walk again. He lives in the community that we live in, and everyone knows him around here. It would be an amazing testimony of God’s power if He chose to heal him and raise him from that chair. Please help us pray that God would heal Bro. Roque if it’s His will.

Also, our special friends (Tiffany and Andrea, and their sister and mom) came to visit us. It had been about 8 years since they had come out to visit. We made supper together and took goofy pictures afterwards. 😂 We go waaay back as friends and have a lot of shared memories and stories to tell. It is always enjoyable when they come to visit, and we are normally laughing for a while after they leave. 😂😂😂 We had a few moments where we thought we had completely lost our mind, but thankfully we got our brains back before the night was over.

I should mention and add here that I am so proud of both Francis and Cristel who are doing their best to learn how to drive. It is hard to get the confidence, so help us pray that they can lose their fear (but obviously keep their caution 👀🙊) and learn how to drive. 😁❤

Another really exciting thing that is actually currently going on, (and it’s most exciting for Nathaniel) is that we have a very very very special visitor in Honduras.

Story Wodoslawsky has graced us with her presence 😜, and we have had a lot of fun! All of our family has been so excited about her coming down for a while, and honestly I’ve been wanting to blog about her and Bub for a while, but had to wait until this trip came to be. 😁 Welcome to Honduras, Story, I hope you like it! (…maybe even enough to stay!🤭💕)

Oh ya, and just so y’all know: I joined the third-wheel club. 😂 It wasn’t THAT bad, but all I can say is I admire Valena. 😜🤭 It’s real y’all. There is way too much honey dripping off the walls here in Ceiba right now! 😂😂

We also had another visitor come this past week. He’s not quite as special to Nathaniel as he used to be, now that Story is here…(lol inside joke.) Nevertheless, it was good to see our missing sibling, and everybody quite a few extra laughs in while he was here.

For those of you who don’t know, Moses lives with us during the week days (while going to college here in Ceiba), and goes back to his house on weekends. When everything shut down in April, he went home and did online classes, so we hadn’t seen him around here in a while. I don’t know if there is anything scarier than giving Fabricio and Moses sugar and leaving them together. There is a guarantee of laughter (and a lot of mischief. 😬😂) Thanks for coming to visit us, bro (and for trying to share your KFC. 😬😂)

I think the biggest highlight from this month, even more than Story (sorry sis 😬😂🙈) is that we had our first normal service this Sunday! I can not tell you how much I cried when realizing that everyone was going to be there, and that (when getting back from picking up people for church) I would finally see the bus parked outside of the church building. We also had a church service on Saturday last week, but not everyone was able to come (only those who had their own vehicles.) This Sunday they brought the bus, and it was such a sight for sore eyes. The fact that we had a church service is yet just another witness of God’s favor. We don’t necessarily have the government’s permission to congregate, but my dad stopped at the police checkpoint and asked if there would be any problems with running the bus for service on Sunday. The policeman told dad that, as long as it was for church, there would be no problems from them. We are truly blessed and highly favored. Below there are pictures of Sunday morning service and picking up and dropping people off, and also of the service at Isabel’s. Story and I shared pictures with each other. 😁

We had several first time visitors, and we had 65 people on Sunday, not counting those who were connected online. I’d say we might have had close to 100? There were a few families who were unable to come and, had they come, it would have been even more! God is so good, y’all. This Sunday, I believe that we are also going to have a church service in the church house, so my heart has been feeling so full!

In other news, my dad and I fly out to the US next Tuesday (Sept. 22nd), and my mom and younger siblings fly out on Tuesday after that (Sept. 29th). We will be in the US for several weeks, and so I might not be giving as many updates about what’s going on down here. I might have different types of posts going on while I’m in the US, and hopefully seeing my good friends, and meeting new ones. 😁

As I have learned in past experiences, if I don’t blog about something as it is happening (or shortly after it happens) I will never blog about it! 😂🙈

One thing I will say is that I am going to miss my baby sooo bad. 😢💕I mean. Y’all. Kiki (Iris) is too cute! I just can’t. 💕 Look at these pictures and you’ll see what I mean.

I would also like to add on to here and mention that my great-grandpa died at the beginning of this month. It was hard for us all, but at the same time I realize that he lived a full, happy life and he was ready to go to Heaven. I’m glad he’s at peace now, and some day soon I’ll see him again! Just please keep my mom’s family in your prayers, please.
