US Trip: November 2020

On Oct 31st, my dad and I drove up to Sulphur, LA to be with the Morgans. The day we got there, Alaina, Caleb, Nya and Ethan let me tag along with them to go to a special service at a neighboring church.

I enjoyed the trip over and the service. After church, we went to eat at McDonald’s with some friends, and then continued on our way. We pulled up to the Ware’s house 5 minutes before midnight, and decided to wait until midnight so that we could sing happy birthday to Ethan who was turning 15 the next day.

I was introduced to the “apparently” song (truly a blessing to my life), and then we sang happy birthday.

When we were about to pull out, it occurred to me that it wasn’t actually Ethan’s birthday, because it was still 11 pm (due to the time change.) It was still fun to sing, though, and I am so thankful they let me hang out with them until 11pm. 😂

I enjoyed hanging out with these young people, and I appreciate how they included me and made me feel at home. So thanks for that, guys!

Well, we got up for church the next day (after getting an extra hour of sleep!), and we had a phenomenal service. My dad and I had to leave right after lunch to drive back to Nacogdoches for service that night.

When we got back, we went to unpack and get ready for church. I got unpacked and ready early and went over to the sanctuary to be in music practice and also spend some time with my good friend, Cassy, before practice. We had the privilege of singing with them that night and it is always special to see everyone at the Nac church! We were all privileged to hear Bro. Long preach that night and we felt a special touch of God.

After church, we decided to go out to eat with the young people, and we had an amazing time. Our waitress was super sweet, and we actually got to witness to her and invite her to church. She even knew the Crosswhites (or rather recognized their picture).

She helped Cassy and I to prank Josiah and Kesler. She brought them little cups and crayons, and the expressions on their faces were great! I’m not sure we could pull that off with anyone else, but we knew we could get away with it with Josiah and Kesler; I mean, they have to love us. 🤷🏼‍♀️😂 Before heading back to the church, we stood outisde and sang for a while with the young people, and it was a lot of fun!

The next day, we got up and cleaned the motorhome, and packed up some summer clothes. We worked as fast as possible, because we knew that if we did, we’d have a really fun afternoon with our friends/cousins.

After we finished all the cleaning and packing we needed to do, Josiah and Kesler arrived to take us to the Pirtles. I have to explain how much fun the Pirtles are. For a couple of years, we traveled up to Heritage together, and we got into all kinds of trouble (er…fun) together. 😂

Kesler and Josiah are best friends, and Kenlee and I (and Lydia) are super close. Yeah, Kenlee and I have quite a bit of history together at Heritage. [insert pic]

Well, we went to hang out with the Pirtles (Unlce Brian and Aunt Jenn), and went 4-wheeler riding. We had a crazy experience! lol. It is a long story, so I won’t be able to give all the details in this post, due to the fact that it is going to be long enough as is.

Let’s just say that it involved getting dust-caked (yes, caked!), Kesler’s-wheeler breaking down, an angry old man with a gun and an attitude, 😬 and a kind, very helpful lady. So yeah, a pretty epic experience!😂👌🏼

We stopped a couple of times during the ride, and one Kenlee started laughing. She was looking at me and I was very confused. Well, she came over for us to take a selfie, and I realized why she was laughing so hard.

After we went back to the Pirtle’s house and the guys went to pick up the 4-wheeler, we headed to the church to eat supper with the Crosswhites, the Longs, and the Savalas. After eating a delish supper, we built a bonfire and the guys went to get stuff for s’mores. Well, they started the fire and went to get the stuff for s’mores. 🤷🏼‍♀️😁

We enjoyed sitting by the fire and jamming to Christmas music. 😁 All too soon, we had to say goodbye and keep traveling. It was a great breather, though. We always enjoy spending time with our adoptive family: adopted aunts, uncles, and cousins, and even our adopted grandma, Cassy! (JK 😜😂) Cassy and I had a great time “blessing” Kenlee and Lydia with a special.😂

We traveled to Broken Bow to celebrate my grandpa’s birthday, and then we went to Dover, AR to visit my other grandparents. We went to Berryville to visit our friends (the Thrashers) and be in church with them; their church is another one of my favorites. 😁

We got there on Saturday afternoon and drove up to see “Smoke on the Mountain”, which was hilarious, btw. 😂 We had church the next morning, and I took a picture with my dad, Josiah, and one of my favorite “giants” of the faith. I took a picture to prove to some of my unbelieving friends. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Then we traveled to visit the Grinders. I love their church and the sweet people. I was looking back through my pictures, and the only picture I have from our visit to their church is one I took of the delicious chocolate/peanut butter cake I ate. Imagine that! 😆

We got back to my granparents” place in Dover, and began the remodeling of our mototrhome. We didn’t realize how hard it would be, but it was mainly my mom and dad who did the work, since the kids had school.

I’m not really sure how many days we worked on the motorhome, did school, and all of that, but around mid-November we went up to Shawnee to spend time with some of our favorite people in the world. 😁 We love the Barksdales! ♥️ We also discovered that we seemed to be trailing behind our friends, the Stewarts. We just have good taste in friends and the churches we visit. 😜

We went to Oklahoma City on Sunday afternoon and had a great service. We enjoyed spending time with the McDonalds, and our friends Joseph and Rachel! 😁

We also went up to Hot Springs and had a Spanish service which was really special. After service (and some amazing food) we went out with some of the young people for a stroll downtown and got to see the hot springs. The pictures weren’t very good, but we had fun! 😂

The next day, Allana flew in from Maine to be with us for Thanksgiving. On the way to pick her up, we were able to stop and eat supper with Tío Noe (Bro. Trevino).

For some reason, I don’t have any pictures from Thanksgiving, only a couple of pictures of our youngest cousin, Samuel, and of us running into a leaf pile.

I have a lot of pictures of the remodeling, but for some reason it’s not letting me add them on, so I guess y’all are going to miss out this time around! 🤷🏼‍♀️

My parent’s 26th anniversary was on November 26th, and they decided they wanted to have a little getaway, so we got to stay with Uncle T and Aunt T (Thrasher) and the girls.

Well, we went to Branson and had tons of fun. We went to see the Sander’s Fmily Christmas, and although we laughed most of the time, I wouldn’t recommend for you to go. I know we won’t go back, because there was one time where we weren’t happy about what happened, so anyways…

We got to see Tío Noe and spend some more time with him, so that was cool! On Monday, we saw our parents again, and we went to eat at Paula Deen’s kitchen (which is amazing, btw) and were privileged to meet Bro. Morrison and Cade. We all went to a trampoline park, where more people showed up. We finally went to eat supper at a Mexican restaurant.

It was a lot of fun, and we enjoyed our time staying with the Thrashers. We had a great time playing Mafia and detective (even if Uncle T did cheat every time *rolls eyes* 😂)

That sums up November, because we left Berryville on December 1st! 😁

Thanks for reading, I hope you’re enjoying these updates that are FINALLY coming out. I know I have a lot to catch up, but I don’t want to jump to the current time, I want to catch everyone up so that you can understand the order of things! 🤷🏼‍♀️😁

God bless!

    Funny Story:
So I’m reading this on my phone, and for some reason the pictures weren’t loading all the way. Well, I saw the one of the sombrero and all I could see of the words were, “shoutout to my friend.” I was like, she probably means me🤣🤣. When it finally loaded I saw, yes, you did mean me😂
If I could, you know what Memoji I would insert right here…..
