God is Good!

Now if you’re a Tim Hawkins fan (like some of my friends from Tulsa 😉 ) you were probably thinking about the song that he sings! 😀 Believe it or not, I was actually thinking about his song when I named this blog post. I’m being converted by my friends, y’all!

All kidding aside, though, God has been so good to us down here! I know I have been kind of inactive for a while, and I have a lot of catching up to do, but I plan on catching up before the end of the year. There is something I am working on right now that is keeping me from blogging very much, and it deserves its own blog post once I’m finished, which should be in a couple of weeks.

As a church we’ve been praying and fasting toward revival and people being filled with the Holy Ghost. God has been answering those prayers, and we are finally starting to see God begin to pour out His Spirit in our church.

Two Sundays ago, we had 5 receive the Holy Ghost. One of the sweetest things is that 3 of them were under 5 years old. It was so sweet to see these little ones praying and talking in tongues. ❤

God also filled Bro. Isidro and Jules with the Holy Ghost. I am so happy to see what God is doing in both of their lives, and I know that God has a specific plan for Jules, and I can’t wait to see God use her!

I have another testimony! On Wednesday afternoon, Miss Lori (an elderly neighbor I take into town and help out) was having some trouble with an arrhythmia, and I took her into town to get it checked. She was doing fine (only weak) and I took her to a hospital (Medicentro) to the emergency room, where they checked her pulse while her doctor came. When her doctor arrived, her heart rate suddenly started going up. Dr. Maradiaga was acting very calm with her, but I could tell he was worried. When he left the room, I heard him yelling at the nurses to run into the room and put a heart monitor on her, and to give her some medicine to calm her heart beat. He came back in to check her pulse, and it was a 214 beats per second (which is dangerously high compared to her normal heart rate of mid-fifties). He said afterwards that it got up to 240 beats per second. While all the nurses were in the room and taking care of her, he tapped me on the shoulder and took me out of the room. He said “I just want you to know that her heart rate is dangerously high, and we could lose her any second. I don’t know if you need to call somebody in case something happens?” I didn’t have a phone, so I called with the doctor’s, and I told my mom what was going on, and asked her to tell everybody else to pray. As soon as I got off I prayed right there in the hall, and asked God for a miracle. The doctor told me that they were going to transfer her to another hospital in an ambulance. He then decided that it would be better for me to take her in the car. (Better for who? Lol) I was afraid that we’d be halfway over there, and that she’d pass out while I was driving and couldn’t do anything about it.

Well, after the prayers, her heart rate started to improve, and my mom ended up coming into town to help me. We took her to the other hospital and ended up staying the night there while they had her on medicine for several hours. Staying at the hospital was an interesting experience. Thankfully, we had a very comfortable room with a nice leather couch me and my mom shared during the night. We didn’t sleep too good, because every few hours nurses would come in (to check on Miss Lori’s medicine IV, and every time they changed shifts) and as soon as they would open the door, the light would shine right in my eyes. Thankfully, she was allowed to leave the hospital at around 3 in the afternoon, and (aside from being tired) she was feeling a lot better. Please keep her in your prayers, so that God would help her with her health. I’m thankful for God’s miracle in her life!

On our Thursday night (midweek) service, something really amazing happened. My mom and I were very tired from having not slept very well the night before at the hospital with Miss Lori. When I got to the church all I could do was sit down in a chair and pray while holding a baby, because I was too exhausted to stand up. Prayer went on for a while, and it felt so refreshing. While Nathaniel was leading service, the lights started to flicker (like at a disco). Now, I can’t quite explain what happened, but all of the sudden it was like God descended in such a powerful way! I saw somebody take off running toward the back, and people started jumping and dancing. I don’t care how tired I felt, it isn’t possible for me to be seated when something like that is happening. I have been praying about a specific situation, and I felt to pray for it again, and God gave me peace like never before. God has been moving in such a special way each service, and I’m thankful!

On Friday, Bro. Steven Thrasher flew in for our men’s retreat, and stayed until yesterday. I (obviously) wasn’t at the event, but have heard that it was very good, and I’m thankful for how God moved.

On Sunday we had a joint service, and prayer went on for a long time before and after Bro. Thrasher spoke. We had one get the Holy Ghost, and had 3 baptisms afterwards.

Gabriela getting the Holy Ghost!

God renewed so many of our young people in service on Sunday, and I’m so thankful for it! We also had baptisms after church.

Bro. Isidro, Isaac, and Jules got baptized:

We’re so thankful for what God has been doing!

On Monday, Bro. Thrasher took our family to Utila, and we had so much fun! I hadn’t been in several years, and always enjoy going, so it was a real treat. I have a few pictures of the way over to the island.

I got some pictures of the beautiful water (thanks Allana, for letting me use your phone). I love the hues of the water over there!

Coming up to the island (the dock):

When we arrived, we rented 2 6-seater gold carts, and split the group in half.

We enjoyed going to see the beach at a couple of different places

Beautiful water, and lots of coral! ❤

We ate lunch, but the funny thing is that the only pictures that we got were of our drinks (and I think Allana took a picture of her pizza). 😀

Ice-cold Coca Cola!

For a while, Bro. Thrasher was making this face and making weird sounds at waving at people as the went by (most of those who ducked their heads and wouldn’t look at him until he passed):

We went to a cool Utila sign to take some pictures:

I ❤ U-keleles 😀

We went to  the beach right behind the sign to take some pictures and stick our feet in the water (well, some of us).

We also went to a house where they make chocolate bars, and we got to sample all of them and tried some really yummy desserts. They had homemade peanut butter chocolate ice cream that was very yummy, and I had a cookie bowl with the PB Chocolate ice cream. It was delicious!

And all too soon, it was time to go back and get ready to get on the boat. Nobody wanted to leave, especially thinking about all the things that were waiting to be done when we got home!

Waiting

On the way back to the main land, we rode inside and played Brazilian Uno (if you haven’t played that, you are seriously missing out 😀 )

IMG_1876

After a few minutes there were some waves and Cristel (who had never been on a boat before) started to feel seasick, which ended when we rode up on he front of the boat. We enjoyed riding there, and got wet by a few of waves. I got a little sunburnt, but it was totally worth it!

Beautiful water and skies. ❤

We really had lots of fun, and it was a well-needed break! 😀 Thanks again for taking us, Bro. Thrasher!

I know I haven’t been blogging and I have a lot to catch up on, but I should be done with everything that’s keeping me from doing it in a couple of weeks. I am super excited and looking forward to our trip to the US from Oct. 3rd to Nov. 12th, where we will be able to go to Power conference in Plaster Rock, New Brunswick, Canada (where I haven’t been in 9 years). We’re also going to be able to go to Holiness in Junction City, KS. I am looking forward to seeing all my friends and my family. I can’t wait!

Continue to keep us in y’all’s prayers. The devil’s mad, and I’m glad! God is sending us revival, and I am so happy about it! Expect to hear more from me (hopefully sooner than later).

Thanks for reading and have a blessed day,

Sarah Schreckhise

      1. That Bryant Oden reference though! Lol. 😝
It truly builds my faith to hear about Revival. It seriously makes me very happy. Thank God for those that got the HG! The fact that those children got it really fires me up. We, as a local assembly, are contending for Revival as well. Believing God for an even greater ingathering. The harvest truly is plenteous but the labourers are few.

Congratulations on your conversion to Bishop Hawkin’s comedy 👏🏽👏🏽
That trip looked like a blast. Your brother mentioned it a bit, but his explanations don’t seem to tell the half of that island’s beauty. We may get to see you guys at Holiness this year. Some of us were debating on trying go down Friday night or not. I hear nothing but good about that conference. I apologize for such a long comment! Thanks for another great post. God Bless.

      2. I was cracking up about that reference, because I stood by the sign there on accident (it was the only place left. 😀 ) We are very excited about what God is doing and how He’d pouring out His Spirit. I pray that God continues to send revival for y’all as well. Laborers are most definitely needed; there is so much work to do!

Thank you! Tulsa played a huge part in my conversion (mostly Lauren telling me that everybody talked about and listened to TH, and that I needed to be fluent to hang out with y’all. 😝)

Utila is definitely gorgeous, and I’m glad we got the opportunity to see it after so many years of not going. We are looking forward to seeing everybody at Holiness! Hopefully it’ll work out for those of you who want to go. Thanks for reading, and God bless! 🙂

I am beyond ready to get everything done, believe me! In Jesus’ name, it’ll be over in 9 days to 2 weeks.

    1. I kept cracking up, because you start to sing it, (thinking you know what it says) and it’s like “Haha! You thought, but no!” Lol.
“I Love U (it’s my favorite letter)” is another favorite one of mine. I can thank Lauren for getting me hooked on the dumb songs! 😀 🤣

      1. I always feel a little tinge of disappointment after I listen to that song. LOL. I’ll check out more of his songs. If we’re talking silly songs I really enjoy Veggie Tales, Hank the cowdog, and some of Tim Hawkins songs. You got to be careful what you pick up from listening to Lauren! JK lol. She’s got a good sense of humor.

      2. Haha! 🤣 Bro. Hank is one of our family’s personal favorites! We randomly belt out VeggieTales around here (especially when there are other PKs around). Tim Hawkin’s songs crack me up. “Stalker” is one of my favorites! I also like his bit “Helper in the Car”. Me and Nathaniel now quote that all the time! It’s become a family joke. 😀 Lauren shared “I Don’t Like Tomatoes” by Bryant Oden with me, and I think I might be damaged for life! 😛 🤣 She’s awesome!

      3. Couldn’t help but comment on the PK Veggie Tales thing- Ain’t that the truth!🤣👌🏻 (hence the music video we made 🤭😆) And “Helper in the Car” is definitely one of my favorites! I remember when me and Kennzie showed y’all that one while in Honduras- Mama Schreckhise really enjoyed it!😆

      4. Yeah, we’ve laughed so hard and have listened to it so many times now. It’s just so accurate, you know? My dad thought it was really funny, too! I remember when y’all showed us “Delilah”, and now Charity and Lydia love singing that song! 🤣🤣🤣

        Liked by 1 person

      5. It is! Haha it describes my mom and dad to a T! And yours, too!🤣 Oh yes!😆 We sang that one so much while we were there! Also “Pretty Pink Tractor”- me, Kennzie, and Kesler would do the rap part for Fabricio.😆👌🏻 I love all of his songs!- they’re hysterical.

        Liked by 3 people

      6. Yeah, that was funny! Me and Fabri were rapping in Spanish, and you three were rapping in English. Lol 🤣 I also am partial to “Chick-fil-A”, since I really am in love with Chick-Fil-A. 😀 That’s one of the things I can’t wait to eat while in the US! That’ll be one of my first stops! Haha!

      7. I love Chick-Fil-A! Both the song and the restaurant. Haha it was our first meal back in the US, too! …Now I’m craving it.🤦🏼‍♀️😆 Remember when Kesler said he had never listened to Hank the Cowdog, just read it? We were all like “WHAT?!”🤣 He’s missing out on so much!

Stalker is awesome. I love how he says its the first song he ever wrote for his wife. Veggie Tales songs are simply the greatest. I was literally listening to “endangered love” today. Its a tossup between the bellybutton song and the pirates who dont do anything for a favorite. Hank the cowdog!!! Watermelon canteloupe black eyed peas. Im having a geek moment. 👏🏽👏🏽🙉😝😝 🤣

    1. 🤣🤣🤣 I love the voice that he uses, too. Like he’s exasperated!

My favorite thing about Tim Hawkins is all the different voices he uses. They’re hilarious! Our whole family loves the bellybutton song. One of my favorite Hank the Cowdog stories was when he drank the mop water, and it made him all crazy…classic moment! 🤣

  6. I love Hank, Tim Hawkins, and Veggie Tales!❤️ Veggie Tales version of Mama’s Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Cowboys will always hold a special place in my heart…😆
Tim Hawkins Helper in the Car is also a favorite…I don’t know if there is another person that could describe what happens in the car between a husband and wife so accurately…#momanddadeverytimewegetinthecar🤦🏼‍♀️😂 I’m glad we could get y’all hooked…You should thank me for this-Tim Hawkins…🤣
Oh my word, I adore Hank! He always seems to get himself into impossible situations…😆 Drover and the coyotes are a plus…😍😂

Lol. I’ll never be able to sing “Mommas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Cowboys” without visualizing Kesler and his “Redneck Hop” (or whatever it was, lol).
“I love my helper in the car! She knows EVERYTHING. She even gives me statistics!” 🤣🤣
If you’ve never heard Hank the Cowdog, I’m not sure you can be saved! 😉 😛 I also like the buzzards. “B-b-b-but Pa!” “Don’t Pa me, Junior” 🤣🤣
